You lost a tree to a storm, or you just want more shade and privacy. You buy a tree, but you are not sure where to put it or how deep to plant it. A tree planted wrong can struggle for years. Toms Tree Services offers tree planting in Marquette to give new trees a strong start.
When Do You Need Tree Planting?
Tree planting makes sense when you are replacing a tree you lost, adding shade or a windbreak, screening a view, or filling in a new yard.
Spot matters. A tree planted too close to the house, under wires, or over buried lines can become a problem later. We help you think about how big the tree will get.
Planting depth matters too. Many trees are planted too deep, which can slowly kill them. The root flare, where the trunk widens at the base, should sit at ground level.
In the U.P., spring and fall are good planting times. Our short summer season and wet spring ground can affect when we can get in, so fall planting is common. Trees that suit our cold winters, snow load and Lake Superior winds do best.
New trees need water in their first seasons. We will tell you how to care for them after planting.
We plant trees for homeowners and property owners in Marquette, Negaunee, Ishpeming, Gwinn and across Marquette County.
How the Job Works, Step by Step
It starts with you. Call 906-236-9567 or send the form with your name, phone number and address. Lucas will call you back to set a time to look at your planting spot.
Then we come out and look. We look at the space, sun, soil, and nearby buildings and lines. We help you pick a good spot. Then we dig a wide hole, set the tree at the right depth, backfill, water it in, and add a mulch ring.
After that, you get a free estimate. There is no trip fee for the visit and no pressure. You can start with part of the plan or all of it. If you go ahead, we set up the work with you and clean up when we finish.
How Much Does Tree Planting Cost?
The cost depends on how many trees, how big they are, the soil, and access to the planting spot. Rocky ground takes more work. Distance, the gear needed, and cleanup also matter. The estimate is free, and there is no trip fee.
When we give you the estimate, we go over what each part of the work covers. That way you can pick what fits your trees and your budget, and change the plan later if your needs change.
